Ina Jo  -  Biography

Ina Jo sang songs of strength and empowerment as the featured performer  at the  "Ladies Night Out at the Ritz-Carlton"  annual benefit sponsored by the United Way Women's Initiative of Sarasota.

After a short stint in the musical revue Laughing Matters at Florida Studio Theatre Cabaret, Ina Jo  was on the road with her night club act  for a tour of Florida's East Coast Condominium clubs and theatres singing Broadway and Pop hits from the 40's through today - and the hurricanes didn't rain on her parade in September 2004 when she brought her show back for a third return engagement !

Ina Jo starred in the Steven Sondheim hit Follies as the ever acerbic Phyllis in  2001 and that was followed with the reunion concert, "Ladies Sing the Blues... Again" for the benefit of Sarasota in Defense of Animals.

In December 2001 she appeared at Sarasota Florida's Theatre Works with the holiday season production of the delightful musical, "The Fantasticks", but a new twist to the script had Ina Jo playing "Mother" Bellamy.

Original scripts have given Ina Jo the opportunity to create a vast range of characters.  At the FLORIDA STUDIO THEATRE she was unforgettable as the dead (but still dancing), Helena  Handbasket, in the hilarious Scott Keys - Robert Hartmann musical comedy, Macabaret.

In Second Summer, a new play by Gary Richards, Sheila Haskett is a gal with only two things on her mind - men and golf - and Ina Jo brought Sheila to life in early October 2001 when she starred in the THEATRE WORKS production in Sarasota Florida.

At AMERICAN STAGE she performed a reader's theatre production of the new musical by Scott Keys and Robert Hartmann, Vanishing Point, playing a character from real life, evangelist Aimee Semple McPhearson.
